Since 1997
GaLink has represented the Georgia Pest Control Association. GaLink was
recently named as the lobbying firm with:
- The most
integrity
- The most
knowledgeable
- The most
influence.
GPCA was
the first state association in 1987 to hold a legislative event. We have
held an event every year since then. In 2005, we sponsored a legislative
luncheon for 175 state legislators, at which time we visited with them,
told them about our industry and made a positive statement about pest control
to all lawmakers. We served Sprayberry's Barbecue - a name associated with
quality and GPCA
Provided
documentation which helped secure continued funding for the Formosan Research
project for the 4th year - even though it had been originally approved
for only 3 years.
Maintained
a grassroots program that reaches more than 100 of our state's elected
officials through direct contact and representation.
Organized
a Forum of industry representatives to discuss the pros and cons of label
vs. minimum standards.
Hosted a
luncheon for an EPA delegation visiting Georgia to crawl houses, and learn
first hand what termite work is all about - these are the folks who decide
what labels will be approved for use for EPA.
Sent a delegation
to Washington to visit Georgia's Senators and Congressmen as a goodwill
contact and supporter.
