What is an LMS?

A learning management system (LMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, automation, and delivery of educational courses, training programs, materials or learning and development programs. The learning management system concept emerged directly from e-Learning. Learning management systems make up the largest segment of the learning system market. The first introduction of the LMS was in the late 1990s. Learning management systems have faced massive growth in usage due to the emphasis on remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are two types of courses available through the GPCA LMS.

1. Online Courses ~ These work-at-your-own-pace courses allow for one-hour CEU to be awarded by signing a fraud statement, watching a video, and completing a quiz at 80%. Then a certificate is automatically generated and sent to your email.

2. Live Web Events ~ These events are live events where Zoom is utilized. This includes items like Cram Days, 4th Tuesdays, and Roadshows.
