  1. NPMA Update – Looking for alternatives on rodenticide restrictions to get them out of the hands of consumers and leave them in the hands of the pros.  Looks promising.

        Flight time research for termites – current finding is that the year after drought conditions we see more indoor infestations.

  1. Georgia Department of Agriculture Updates – Derrick Lastinger
    1. Kenzi Brawshaw joined the SPCC team
    2. Georgia National Fair will be from Sept to Oct
    3. EPA has posted pesticide incident data on their website
    4. June 29 – Ag interns visited the Georgia Poison Control Center at Grady
  2. Compliance – Tim Taylor: Unregistered salespeople are illegal – notice of violation has been issued.  Non-renewals will be called in the coming weeks
  3. Certification and Training – Ali Ikner:  Renewals as of the end of July – 147 companies have not renewed; 400 employees have not renewed; 300 DCOs have not renewed.
    1. Authorized CEU submitter training is coming soon
    2. 122 people took the HBR course that was offered across the state.  People are still asking for this training
    3. Cheating policy update – there have been several violations and the current policy has helped with enforcement.
  4. Outreach – Nan Collier:  Clean Day will be next week in Coffee County – August 11th deadline to register.
    1. Outreach will be at GPCA North Georgia Conference and CPCO Conference
    2. They will also be at Paul Anderson’s Ray Day Event
  5. Georgia Pesticide Application Certification & Training Plan
    1. Rules/Policy changes need to be made to comply with the EPA. The commission has a list of what needs to be done.  The commission will read and take up at the next meeting.
  6. Notice 17-01 Examination Cheating Policy – Passed
  7. PSSI appeal to waive the waiting period under 17-01 for David Sereboo.  The commission has additional questions and will take up at the next meeting
  8. HBR experience requirement – Bobbie Chaisson recommends that a facility be built where these experiences can be held for those that need the experience and demonstrate the removal process.  The commission will collect more information and review the status next month.
  9. Notice 17-03 – State Inspection Fact Sheet – Changes have been made to include a record retention chart. – Passed
  10. EPA sulfuryl fluoride early mitigation decision – 1.5 years out from applicators being affected.
  11. TermiTek System – Monitoring devices for termites in lieu of bait stations.  No pesticide in the product only for baiting termites to prove the need for termite treatment.  Good for only a year.  Sees more as a lead generator for the pest control company.  Mostly for the post-construction market. The commission wants to review the contract and take it up at the next meeting.
