Government & Legislative Committee Hosts Successful Legislative BBQ

The day started with a trip to the Governor's Mansion for a picture with the governor (picture below). The day continued at the Capitol building where the Government and Legislative Committee hosted a successful Legislative BBQ. BBQ Plates were given to State Senators, State Representatives, and their staff, while information was shared with them about the impact of the pest control industry on Georgia's economy.

GPCA Attends Georgia Department of Agriculture's 150th Celebration


After a full day at the Capitol, the GPCA contingent attended the 150th Anniversary Celebration of the Georgia Department of Agriculture. The ceremony was presided over by Tyler Harper, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner, and included remarks by the Speaker of the House, the Honorable Jon Burns, and Governor Brian Kemp.

TO ALL GEORGIA STRUCTURAL PEST CONTROL LICENSEES, INTERESTED PERSONS AND PARTIES

The Georgia Structural Pest Control Commission (SPCC) recently issued a new fact sheet to assist the industry with compliance with the rules of the Georgia Structural Pest Control Act.

Wildlife Workshop, Spring Roadshow, and February Cram Days a great success!


GPCA hosted a successful Wildlife Workshop where the Department of Natural Resources Officer, Lt. Mark Patterson, brought indigenous and invasive snake species to help operators and technicians learn to identify them. The sold-out Wildlife Workshop attracted 43 wildlife operators for a day of classes and comradery. 
 
NO MORE ROOM! GPCA's conference room literally could not hold one more participant.
SNAKE! Lt. Mark Patterson handles the harmless Eastern Indigo Snake, species Drymarchon couperi, the largest snake in Georgia whose home territory is South Georgia.

 Please note a couple of user tips and important details regarding your group RESLINK:

  • The group RESLINK is best opened in Chrome or Edge internet web browsers. Using alternate internet web browsers, i.e. Internet Explorer or Firefox will result in a “No Availability” or “Error” outcome.
  • A “No Availability” outcome will result if the requested room type is not available for all nights of the intended stay. Should this occur, try to adjust the dates of stay or select an alternate room type.
  • The start & end date may include pre- and/or post- group days (subject to availability) which may be different than the arrival & departure dates listed on the contract agreement.

Room Nights at the Westin will be as follows:

Island View: $269 per night

Partial Ocean View: $279 per night

Ocean View: $299 per night

Ocean Front: $329 per night

We have an alternate room block at the Hampton Inn & Suites Jekyll Island.  Reservations can be made by calling 912-635-3733 or 1-800-426-7866 and mentioning “Georgia Pest Control Association” to get the block rate.

 Room Nights at the Hampton Inn & Suites will be as follows:

 Double Queen Suite: $259 per night

King Suite: $249 per night

Standard Double Queen: $239 per night
